'Do I have life insurance?'
The little golden head asks.
'I'm a very valuable person
Who can do specific tasks.
Beauty over age,
That's what I always say.
I could go out and get run over
Any old dull day.
So why don't I have life insurance?
Why haven't I taken some out?
It's clear that it is needed,
There definitely is no doubt.'
I look up at her frowning
At her iPod screen.
Oh dear Lord, Chloe
You're only flipping thirteen!
True it's an unlucky number
For a friggatristadeckaphobe
But you don't just take out insurance,
That's not the way it goes.
It's not like you're worth millions;
Your not BeyoncΓ© or Lady Gaga,
You're just a little school girl
Really, you're worth nada.
But I don't voice these opinions,
There's nothing I will say,
I just sigh and shake my head.
That's a battle for another day.
