You played me for years,
Time and time again.
Could you not have left the deck,
And saved me all the pain.
You always took another card,
Never happy with what you had.
Someone's heart would always break,
But somehow you were glad.
And when you tried to explain,
You said I became the provoker.
Yet all along I chose the card,
Which turned out to be the joker.
I loved you lots I swear I did,
From the deepest of my heart,
But knowing that, I see horror,
I'm so thankful we're apart.
I plead that the next girl,
Will escape while she can.
Anyone can do better than you,
'cos you're a lying, deceitful man.
Why aren't I the one,
That you will always pick?,
Instead you shuffle me around,
Like some naive old card trick.
