The breeze was cool on my warm skin. I walked quickly down the outside steps, late again. Darn these high-heeled boots, not allowing me to sprint any faster. Suddenly a door up ahead was closing. "No! Wait, hold it!" I was out of breath. Thank goodness the kid decided to wait for me. I finally got in the building my cheeks all pink, and hair all flustered. I walked casually into my Chorus class...still trying to pace myself. "Where have you been?" Katy asked in a surprised voice. " You almost missed vocal warmup." I rolled my eyes," Lucky me." I slipped off my brown Northface, walked around the circle to Katy. " Okay, whose first?" Catherine shouted proudly around the group. She was our Chorus Captain, she leads us...and sorta of teaches us. We did have a teacher, but Breast Cancer took over and she was done before any of us could react. The school hasn't bothered for a replacement, we weren't important enough, I guess. "Fine all you wimps, I'll start. She went into the middle, and Rolling in the Deep started playing on the piano. Catherine began. After she finished singing the first part, she motioned Katy, and I in for back up singing. " Oh I love her." I growled. But we both did. The words yelled in my head. "Roll your soul through every open door...." When the song was over, she remarked that Adele was our singer of the week, and gave us our weekly assignment. " You must find an Adele song that fits you and you must perform it...in your finest Adele clothes." All the boys groaned in agony. I sat down in my chair, and Katy sat briskly beside me. " So, what's with you?" I rubbed my cheek. " Tyler kept texting me last night. He wants me to go with him to the Midnight Scare Dance...." Katy looked at me a little crazed.".....MG, you haven't told him that your performing at it?" I looked up at her like a lost puppy." No..." Katy rubbed her temples, and sat down beside me. " Madison, you have to tell him, I mean your singing comes before this." I took a deep breath. " You can't just let him boss you around...." The bell rang. Katy scooped up her books, and bag. "C'mon MG. Let's get this party started."
