I remember reading a piece of text that inspired my greatly. It read similar to the following;
I have lived opposite an elderly couple for some years now. Every morning they would take a walk around the block, always looking at peace with each other. One day I asked them, "how long have you been together?", to which they replied, "nearly 60 years". I then asked them what their secret was, as I see relationships today as fragile and temperamental states of companionship. They explained, "we lived in a time whereby if something was broken, we fixed it. We didn't throw it away".
This touched me immensely. It puts our lifestyle into perspective and allows us to see that things have changed, and that little things like this are the cause of the huge breakdown in society. I started to question my own personal values and standards and as a result, I have become more in-tune with life and my own being.
Thank you for reading. Im hoping to get lots of writing done this week so keep and eye out and there may be something here that gives you the inspiration that you need.
Lastly, you can follow me on Twitter - @BenAlldridge - for short quotes and relevant tweets. I promise I don't post about what is on my plate at dinner time. I'm also on Facebook although I just have my tweet sync so I never really post on there. But you're certainly welcome to add me.
