Divergent

Has anybody read Divergent? My goodness, it's amazing. Read it. Now. 'Kay?

'Divergent', by Veronica Roth, follows Tris, a sixteen-year-old girl living in a dystopian society. The city that Tris lives in is split into five different factions.
Erudite, which values intelligence. Candor, which values honesty. Amity, which values peace and kindness. Dauntless, which values bravery. Abnegation, which values selflessness.
After living in Abnegation for the first sixteen years of her life, Tris has never felt like she fits.
Which makes things difficult when she must choose which faction to live in for the rest of her life. Will she choose Abnegation, where she can live a simple life with the rest of her family? Or will she choose a different faction, where she will betray her family and old faction forever?

'Divergent' has received many comparisons to 'The Hunger Games', and I can see the similarities, although I personally think 'The Hunger Games' is just slightly better. 'Divergent' is also being released as a movie adaptation in 2015. The filming is supposed to start later this year, although they haven't released any cast members yet. The sequel, 'Insurgent' was released in May, which I haven't even read yet. The third unnamed book is due for release next year.
All in all, it's a fantastic book that will utterly obsess you. Beware.
I have to go and wallow in my personal pit of despair until 'Insurgent' arrives. Toodlepip.

The Hunger Games The first in a trilogy of books. The first book was certainly something that only caught my eye because of the film.
