The summer holidays ended and school began. I said good bye to Freya and drove off to the school grounds. It wasn't a very long drive, so when it ended I parked the car. I walked over to Georgia who was desperately trying to find something.
"Hey Georgia." I said, making her jump. Ugh! Why do I do that?
"Hey, oh I gotta go, sorry." had I done something wrong? Before I could speak she was through the school gate. I went to tutor early and Mrs. Bennyworth, my tutor, was very surprised. I then went to my first lesson, Art. My teacher Mr. Letting set us homework, on the first day back!?
At break I decided to sit with my other friend Cathy.
"What's up with you?" she asked "you usually sit with Georgia and that lot."
"That's what I thought but she's been acting strange so I thought I'd sit with you."
When the bell went Cathy walked with me to English. We went to the back table by the window and sat down.
"Are there any new students this year?" I asked Cathy who was staring blankly at the table. She looked up, her dark brown eyes appearing lighter from the classroom light above us.
"Not that I know of," Cathy replied "I mean, there might be but I haven't seen any."
I didn't reply but only sighed.
I had Geography next and I told Cathy to meet me outside her History room.
I saw Cathy standing alone waiting for me. I waved to her and we walked down to the cafeteria together. Matt, Alex, Lucy, Georgia and our other friend Ryan, joined us at the table.
"Sad you couldn't make the camping trip, Ryan," Alex said "You missed Megan trip!"
"Hahaha," I laughed with no humour "You also missed Alex get frighteβ¦" my voice trailed off, as I saw him enter the lunch hall. It was him. Him, the person I saw in the forest. He looked at me startled by my expression, which probably wasn't very appealing, ugh! Suddenly something strange happened. The light on the ceiling bounced of his ice pale skin and for a moment I thought I saw a sparkle. Some kind of reaction between his skin and the light. He quickly moved out of the lights brightness. A girl and a boy followed him. The girl had very long blonde hair and had as pale skin as he did. The boy that followed had short black hair that fell over his eyes, he also had extremely pale skin. The person I had seen in the forest, walked over to a empty table and the other two, arm in arm, followed.
"Hey!" Lucy snapped, she clicked her fingers right in front of my face
"Stop day dreaming, you've been like that for at least four minutes." Ryan stated glaring at me. He wasn't the only one. Everyone on our table stared their eyes wide.
"Sorry." I said and tried hard to listen to what Georgia was saying, but I couldn't resist the temptation to look round at the table where he sat. He was staring at the table. The girl was talking but kept her eyes on her ice coloured hands. Her bright red lips, moving but it was impossible to make out what she was saying. She suddenly stopped and glowered at me. I looked down and tried to catch up with the conversation on my table.
After my last lesson, science, I walked over to my car, got in and started the engine. I noticed Colin, I managed to find out his name by overhearing it somewhere. He was leaning against his car. The other guy, Matthew was with him. It looked like they were waiting for something. Like something to happen. Yet when the girl, Malinda, reached the car, they drive off. I sighed and drove home myself.
When I got home I went into the kitchen and started to prepare vegetables for supper.
The next day, I drove to school and Colin was alone in his car. Malinda and Matthew were no where in sight. I stared at Colin, admiring his flawless face. His red lips. His eyes. He turned his face in my direction. His gaze met mine. I blushed. He smirked. I looked down quickly, hoping he wasn't in my history.
He was.
He even had to sit next to me.
"I'm Megan-" I started but He cut me off
"Yes I'm Colin," he hissed "So let's just work together evenly and then no one gets harmed."
I stared at him. Why was he being like this? I hadn't even spoken to him so I couldn't of done something wrong, right?
