Crisps In The Back Of A Maxi

Wouldn't normally add a quote, but this made me laugh out loud.
WARNING! For older readers only-it'll be lost on youth! (you lucky buggers)

'Parenting was different in the 1970s. Nancy should be glad she got inside the pub, unlike many of us who were left in the back of Maxi cars outside The Bull, with a bag of Tudor Pickled Onion crips, a warm bottle of cola, and strict instructions 'not to fiddle with the handbrake'. Bonus points for bad parenting if the crisps were pushed through the pub window by some pub random, not even your dad.
Then driven home an hour later, no seatbelts, by someone over the limit...'

Classic memories.

Haha. A tail my dad often relays back to me... Nice one!

@Odd Glad you can relate! 😄

I thought a maxi was a skirt or dress lmao! I have heard stories like this tho 💞

*tale... I'll grammar Nazi myself. :3 I'll just blame a mind blip due to this Opuss epicness.

@sjw You learn something every day lady!😘

@Fly10 thank you for the insight 😽

@Fly10 nope I'm far tooo young to get it Lmfao 😃😚

@smellyfingers You is a JOKA!😉😘

God this is so true!!!..ha !, 👏💛💛😃

@Fly10 Certainly takes me back... Remember all of us in the back of the Vauxhall Victor on the journey home, dad at the wheel weaving 32mph... And then he'd go for the cigarette lighter in the centre consul... Never mind the faces from oncoming traffic, ours must've been a marvel... Aye, them were the days when we could afford petrol... :-)

As you are the unofficial police lady of Opuss, just to let you know I think ive found another case of plagiarism. I won't say who as I want to run it through google. However, the poem is a huge departure in style (and lack of spelling/grammatical errors) which has made me suspicious. :( If I'm wrong and google reveals nothing, I won't say who caused the suspicion. In fact the only reason I'm telling you is I guess I want you to rest assured that it is not just you trying to be proactive! And I deliberately chose an older (less liked) Opuss of yours as it is unlikely Nyone further will comment!

Excuse my own spelling errors; I was typing fast!

@Nom Ideal way to let me know-it's exact way SmellyF & I dealt with it, via covert messages! I'll delete them as we go along. I've spotted & commented on a few already, altho mostly 13yr olds, which is a difficult one to approach( & somewhat predictable to be honest). You're right, it is often the odd phrase/post that is out of place with the authors other stuff, that gives it away. I have found in the past though, that even when I've been 100% sure it's not theirs, I can't always find it on Google. Let me know how you get on anyway & if you need any help, give me a shout. Glad I'm not the only one spotting it!! 😘

@Fly10 I might not get a chance to check it tonight. I'll be very disappointed if it is plagiarism though as it is a top rank author. It could just be they typed it into Word or something first...benefit of the doubt! I'll let you know if I can't alleviate my suspicions.
