My Prozac

Only a few minutes left
Until the witching hour
Work is done, kids asleep, I'm fresh out of the shower
Sitting down to write
my 'HAPPY' piece
for you all to share
Aware the clock is ticking-I can't miss out on this dare!

There's lots of things that make me smile
and I could ramble on for pages
But all my followers would soon be bored
(and it would take me bloody AGES..)

So rather than list the tangible
I decided on the actual feeling
Of happiness, which when it catches you
Can often leave you reeling

For it's a drug more potent than all others
Safe & free to try
Better than man size tissues
To dry your tears when you cry

With just the tiniest of gestures
This drug can make you smile
A touch, kind word, or when you're low
A friend who goes that extra mile

A job well done, a marathon run
Just a sense of something achieved
New love's kiss, wedded bliss
A comment & like in my feed!

For some today the happy theme
caused them to fret & frown
But the beautiful part of this community
Is we help each other
when we are down

So quietly and discreetly
Without a fanfare or a fuss
Here's my chink of happiness
To shine on my friends at Opuss
