Fat Vs Skinny

We all know what society's views are on people and the way they are supposed to look. Girls; skinny and feminine. Guys; buff and manly. Anything deviating from that is picked on, pointed out or used in various ways of degradation however subtle they may be.

Calling someone fat is degrading. Making fun of someone's size, that they don't look well in clothes, that they can't take care of themselves. A chance for people to stare and judge. Plus size girls, who go against the stupidity of societies norms, have it tough. Being fat just doesn't work. It's not completely tolerated. It's not very feminine.
I don't agree with this at all, but that's a different discussion.

Guys who aren't manly and buff are sissies. Guys at 120 lbs in their 20's can't exactly be viewed upon objectively either. They are considered weak, not especially manly at all. And the worst part is - it's totally acceptable for anyone to point it out. It's okay to say "You're skin and bones" to a guy. Nothing wrong with that, apparently. Call a girl fat, and you're a horrible person. But regardless of who gets the judgement, it hurts to anyone who is struggling with their weight, regardless of if it's too much of it, or not enough of it.

And isn't it all just ridiculous? What does it matter if you have more fat than the average person, or too little? Why do we constantly strive for normality, or the pressure to fit into stereotypes? Why are we so intent on being closed minded?

I guess nobody knows, but remember; next time you point out someone's body, take a hard look on your own first. If you are completely content with what you see, you won't judge others. You can't work them out, so work out your own need to judge. Because the mind is almost always uglier than the body.

If you see someone who is too fat or too skinny and you need to take a stance, do the right thing and help them. Judging them for it doesn't help anyone. Either help, or don't do anything at all, and keep your opinions to yourself. You're not their judge, and it's not a joke. Don't take out your insecurities or judgmental mind on someone else.

And remember: it's just fat. Nothing else. Not to you, at least.

I agree here on all

Very well said!! X

Great blog πŸ’ž

Aggghhh .... I agree here in all levels but sadly we have a problem with obesity in this country for many reasons. I find and others may completely disagree it totally unacceptable to see an overweight child. Body image is such a problem for the young and old alike. What is acceptable/ what is normal. It matters not if you are large or thin but be HEALTHY. 😊

Totally agree ☺very well put 😊

@eddie12309 I'm aware, and you make a good point. This wasn't addressing obesity in that way, that's a different discussion. But I appreciate the comment nonetheless :)

I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to read, like or repost this X

well put 😊 but i dont think its going to stop πŸ˜” some people just don't consider the feelings of others πŸ˜’

@twistedtail yeah, learning people to accept others for who they are seems impossible, but of we try, we can at least make things better :)
