The wind blew cold around me,
Making me shiver and shake,
I curled up beneath the large, oak tree,
And stared at a falling snowflake.
My eyes watered because of the chilling breeze,
There was no ray of light,
I rested my head upon my knobbly knees,
And watched the silent night.
I sat, frozen, amongst the eerie wood,
Swaying back and forth,
I lay down in the oozy mud,
Trying to find a place of warmth.
I heard a distant howling,
It made me gasp and cry,
An animal probably prowling,
Who knows why...?
I ran back through the blanket of snow,
Settling on the floor,
I wasn't sure which way I should go,
Now, I wanted to get home even more.
