A Winter's Night...

The wind blew cold around me,
Making me shiver and shake,
I curled up beneath the large, oak tree,
And stared at a falling snowflake.

My eyes watered because of the chilling breeze,
There was no ray of light,
I rested my head upon my knobbly knees,
And watched the silent night.

I sat, frozen, amongst the eerie wood,
Swaying back and forth,
I lay down in the oozy mud,
Trying to find a place of warmth.

I heard a distant howling,
It made me gasp and cry,
An animal probably prowling,
Who knows why...?

I ran back through the blanket of snow,
Settling on the floor,
I wasn't sure which way I should go,
Now, I wanted to get home even more.

Tala, Chapter 2

She pushed herself forward through the blizzard. Maybe when the snow stopped she would know where to go, but that was unlikely, it never stopped snowing here.

No Comfort Farm

'twas a cold winters night. All bluster and blizzard. Snow down my neck, toes like fingers of ice. The wind found it's way through clothing and skin. Wheeling and stealing the breath from my mouth.

Standing alone on a cold dark night. When even your home brings the mist of fright. When your hope has gone. And just fear remains. The wolves are out there. Howling your name.

:::Always Running:::

They come through the darkness. Creeping through the shadows. Silently they slip through the trees. Hunting, watching, waiting. They live as a family. Together from the time they’re born.

Hotel Crossroads

You reflect me as I once was. Lost at the crossroads that you decide on. Nothing seems familiar to the left. Right looks dark with a path towards death.

Personification

I wandered alone in the forest, clouds chasing me. The skinny trees searching for sun, as did I. The forest was completely starved of light. Clouds hiding it from me.
