You reflect me as I once was
Lost at the crossroads that you decide on
Nothing seems familiar to the left
Right looks dark with a path towards death
Behind you is a troublesome route but you made it through
Ahead is a long twisting road which seems to appeal to you
Movement in the distance moves slowly
A small creature arrives at your location and tells you it's lonely
It tells of all the dangers it has seen
Of the sights and sounds of where it's just been
Now you are confused and rest at the roadside
Gathering sticks and fallen branches before the day turns night
Removing possessions from cases you have gathered for a lifetime
You set up camp and light a fire and tell yourself everything's alright
The morning arrives and you shake of your fears
From the rustling and strange sounds in the darkness you did hear
You leave camp and stroll off into the woods
You create spears and snare traps you read in a book
One week passes and you've built a shelter and cured some meat
Determined to survive and not die here in defeat
This crossroads has now become your home
Every now and then a creature visits and you offer up a juicy bone
