Sometimes in the rush of our lives, we forget to actually take a moment. A moment of just thinking about nothing. It's peaceful for the mind, puts it at rest.
I read up somewhere a while ago in a book that to create peace/tranquility within ourselves we need to just take one moment during the day to sit down, close our eyes and just listen to our surroundings. Concentrate only on the sounds you can hear. Try and find the smallest of sounds e.g. Somewhere in the distance you can hear a bird chirping or the patter of rain on your window.
It's actually a very peaceful thing. And it's something which after a stressful day at work/school can be in a way rewarding to our mind. In no way am I implying that it releases stress, but it does give you just that moment of nothing.
