Does anyone else,
Feel Time slip
Away?
As if the hour you thought,
Is really a day?
A month becomes years,
Stolen forever,
Where Time is concerned,
We're at the end of our tether.
Time's a conundrum,
That's for sure,
When you want less,
It'll give you more.
When you want slow,
It'll quicken its pace,
It never loses sleep,
Over saving face.
It'll 'cough' says Auden,
And that is true,
It'll stop you when-
-you want something new.
It'll lecture your dreams,
Cage your heart,
Still your thoughts,
Keep soul apart.
Time steals its way,
Into every nook and corner,
It haunts and becomes,
Every sad, heartless mourner.
Time acts as our parent,
Our lover, our jailer,
And fits lives to us people,
Like clothes from a tailor.
Time acts as a king,
And his people are we,
Time crafts every lock,
And holds every key.
