Uncharted Waters

Conviction floods my heart
Bringing a warm relief
I'm brimming with the confidence
That comes from self belief

I was clinging tightly to a ledge
Fearful of letting go
And tumbling into the mighty river
But now I'm with the flow

There comes a time for everyone
When they must swim or sink
I refuse to drown in sorrow
I'll step over the brink

Leaping off the edge of the map
Sailing in uncharted water
I'll ensure I'll make you proud

I'm too stubborn for defeat
Passionately persistent in all
I'll ready the fleet

You see I'm prepared for battle
With my masters of Motivation
My captains of Commitment
My generals of determination

The troops line up inside my mind
Waiting to do as I please
They give me strength to carry on
And live my life with ease

I'm further than I've ever been
Away from you this time
But don't you worry, it's okay
We shall all be fine

My dad will miss his little girl
And so too will my mother
The person I will miss the most
Is my cheeky little brother

It's not the time, I'm not there yet
But time flies by so soon
Prepare yourselves for my departure
I'm shooting for the moon

A year today I'll be decided
On where I want to go
I have waited many years
I finally will know

The understanding washes over
Trust cleanses my soul
This love for myself is essential
For me to achieve my goals

I must be very confident
Comfortable in my own skin
I'll call upon all of my being
To keep the calm within
