You called me today, and I was sick. You told me about her, your lovely fiancé. I wanted to hang up, to place the jealousy aside. I tried to tell you goodbye, and you stopped me from placing my phone down. I heard her voice in the background, and I felt really down. You invited me to your wedding, down by the old docks. Memories came to mind, that's where we'd build bird houses out of blocks.
I pushed the jealousy down, and obliged sadly. You told me her name, it was Sandy. You told me her favorites, like her favorite candy. I hung up sadly, hopping into the cab.

You called me today, I was happy to hear from you. You told me of your new child, and I told you of my engagement. For a moment, we sounded without a care in the world. We got quiet all of the sudden, and began to think of our old world. When were happy, when every word meant the world. When you would hold me, and brush away my fears of the world.
When we would hold hands, to keep away our tears from the world. That is something I will never forget, even when I'm with him. You changed my life, you were my first love.
