I remember walking
In the treacherous rain
Both with our hoods up
Refusing to part again
As it lashed down we found shelter
Under our favourite tree
You stood back against the oak
Hoods still up, just high enough that your eyes could be seen
I moved in a little closer
Never breaking eye contact
There were no words verbally spoken
But conversation wasn't at all lacked
We both knew what each other wanted
We were on exactly the same page
Body language spoke loudly intentions
But I stopped at that pivotal stage
We were friends going for a walk in the gardens
Once this happened it all would then change
I was nervous and afraid of rejection
Our first kiss would have to wait another day
I wish we could go back to those gardens
I wish we could go back to those days
Arguing about the colours of the
flowers
Walking for hours as if lost in a maze
We stopped walking
We stopped talking
You stopped wanting
You stopped loving
We stopped....
