I don't understand what is going on. I'm only four.
Everyone was outside running for their lives, screaming "it's coming, it's coming!"
What was it? Nobody tells me anything. I knew something was wrong when Mummy and Daddy were talking hurriedly in the kitchen one night.
"How can we tell him?" My mummy said, crying into her hands. My daddy moved to comfort her, stroking her hair and whispering "It will be alright, it will be alright..."
I walked in, and went to hug my mummy. But before I could move again she ran out of the room crying.
I was so confused. But I understand now. She was trying to protect me from the horrors going on outside right now. I don't know where my parents are, they must be amongst the horde of people running for their lives.
I am not. I am alone, all alone. Hiding in my wardrobe, afraid to go out. I can hear noises, more screams. All I want to do is cuddle up with my parents and forget the commotion going on outside.
Now I don't even know where my parents are. Whatever is out there, it's turning my world upside down.
