Every waking moment a continual test,
continually striving to offer my best.
Pressure to keep ahead of the rest,
trying to predict, what happens next.
What just happened matters no more,
I'm not in the same moment that I was before.
All that planning, but still so unsure,
about having chosen the appropriate door.
It has caused me unnecessary distress
because all that matters is what happens next.
Late for a meeting I try to foresee,
what the consequences might be for me.
Do I run the red light, will I cause a bad wreck?
I play out the movie on cause and effect.
As the universe continues to stop and reset,
guiding us all to what happens next.
Face to face with all of my dreams,
my heart is pounding like a manmade machine.
One fleeting moment to take that one chance.
What do I do? should I advance?
Do I hide my emotions, keep them repressed?
My life transforms with what happens next.
This life long game,
It's always the same.
Turn left or right,
surrender or fight.
Do I choose yes, or is it a no.
When do I stop and when do I go.
It doesn't really matter what I expect
because everything changes with what happens next.
