There I saw,
That delicious cake,
So perfect that,
It might be fake.
The moist, brown cake,
Sprinkles all around,
It was calling me,
So I crept up without a sound.
Perfectly spread,
Was the icing I do love,
One little snitch,
And I felt like I was in heaven above.
One more lick,
I said to myself,
And then I will,
Put this cake up on the shelf.
But soon one bite,
Turned to eight, then ten,
I'd almost ate,
All the cake when...
I felt a pain in my stomach,
I started to feel sick,
It was rising up in my throat,
I needed a trash can quick!
My mom showed up,
Looking concerned,
Then one look at the cake,
And a lesson I learned.
The whole neighborhood heard it,
It was that loud,
When the paddle hit my bum,
And I gave a big shout.
So be warned,
Even if dessert is calling you,
Do not be tempted,
For you'll learn a lesson too.
