The next thing I know, I am being thrown then dragged on the ground by two Enumarators. "Gemi!" Alana screams. "Gemi!" The last sight I see is Lilan and my parents running toward Alana as my head smacks the cement pavement.

I gain conscience from a hand slapping me across my face. "Get up, girl!" a man in a gray uniform growls. I struggle up as he strides around a corner and then slump against the wall. I sob as my head hits the wall and it mingles with other cries. Boots echoing down the hall and whimpers swirl in my head. My eyes finally focus on a girl screaming and throwing herself against the metal wall, then crawling back and doing it again. "That's Ailill. She does that a lot," peeps a small voice to the right of me. I turn over to my side and moan. A small girl stares back at me, her eyes unmoving. It's like they're vacant. I stare at her and don't answer. "I'm blind," she says, her auburn curls bouncing as she directs her head to her right, her eyes following and staring. "H-how did you know I was looking at-" "You were silent. Everyone does that," she interrupts, not looking at me. Embarrassed, I ask where we are. She turns her head following the sound of my voice and unnerves me with her bright, empty, blue eyes. "I think somewhere in the Wild." My heart sinks and a bit of my hope vanishes. The Wild is way up north. Deadly, freezing, unlivable. "I've been here ever since I can remember..." Poor thing, she was probably brought here as a baby. As if almost on cue, a cry of a baby comes behind a bolted door with a strange symbol on it that is glowing yellow. "My names Charity," the girl says, trying to break the ice. "Gemi." "Oh! Short for 'Gemini' like what your Tag says. She touches my hand and I look down. A glowing green stamp on my right hand catches my eye. I wonder how she knew what it said. "I felt it with my hand. It's bumpy for Illegals like me," she explains, as if reading my thoughts. I move my left hand to feel the fancy Roman numeral '2'. Something yanks my arm back and a chain clatters to the ground, tied around my wrist. The sound startles Ailill and she jumps up, her chain clanging as she desperately throws herself against the wall. I turn my head towards Charity's hand and see an eye with an 'x' as the pupil glowing on her hand in a radiant blue; probably the sign for a blind Illegal. The eye disappears as she shifts and stares straight ahead, ignoring the whimpers surrounding us. She doesn't deserve this. None of us do. I turn around and find a boy with his mouth half open, staring at me. Most people would look down on him, but I see a sparkle of a smile in his eyes, something he can't do with his mouth. His hand is illuminated by a red complicated curlicue. I shift my gaze to a boy across the
hall. His blond hair is close to his head and he seems about my age. He looks up and our eyes lock for a second. I duck my head down, wondering why he is imprisoned here. Nothing seems wrong with him. At least in my eyes; probably not Kasmim's. I look up quickly and my headache worsens. I can see a green glow coming from the boy's hand. He's a twin too. That comforts me, knowing that I'm not a loner. My thoughts are interrupted by pounding boots. I look up and I see a girl a bit older than me being escorted by two men in gray uniforms. Everyone grows silent, including Ailill. "Kina, No!" Charity says frantically. After the group passes her, she makes an 'L' with her left and places it on her heart. The other Illegals follow her gesture and soon everyone is doing it, so I do the same. Charity leans over and says, "The 'L' is for 'love'." I nod and keep my hand on my chest. The boy across the hall whispers "bye" and soon it turns to one voice as everyone says their farewells. I'm about to join in, but halt when the same man who slapped me comes marching down the aisle and cracks a whip on the ground. Harsh. "SHUTUP!" he roars. The sound rings throughout the steel rafters as Kina takes one last look back at the hall. I notice that her eyes look the same as Charity's. "We'll never see her again," Charity chokes down a sob. "Kina was
blind too. She always looked out for us, but she tuned 18 yesterday I think. They're taking her to..." She bursts into tears. I try to comfort her. "Charity-" I get one word out and the man with the whip shouts at me. I jump up and lunge, but he just walks away and mocks me. I keep pulling, but am also pulled back. Finally, I collapse, defeated. Nobody stares; they're used to this. The boy across the room decides to pipe up. "He can do whatever he wants with us. I'd advise you not to do that again." "That..would've been...useful..." I gasp between breaths. I glare at him then fall back, more enraged than ever. Sleep succumbs me and I feel like I my blood turned to lead. All hope is gone.

@minxyMolly Well I was thinking of her becoming blind too like from the crack on her head because that can happen or them being transported to a different camp... I also have some other ideas but... Yeah I don't know
@Klaire That's a good idea... Maybe Gemi could escape with Charity and Ailill, then they could be living in the wild, trying not to be caught? I'm not sure.
@AprilMayJune I was thinking more of like the whole Illigals but yeah I'll consider that! Thanks! @AprilMayJune
@AprilMayJune Well it's genius and so creative! I have to go now. Bye Merry Christmas and thanks for your help!
