The crash of thunder,
Keeps me awake.
The flash of lightning,
Makes me quake.
Rain violently thrashes,
Against my window.
Shaking with fear,
As the tears start to flow.
I cover my ears,
Begging to stop.
The painful memories,
As in the pillow, I sob.
The rain is my tears,
The thunder, your shouts.
The lightning, our anger.
The storm stops, I blackout.
The screaming is gone,
The pain and the tears.
I no longer care,
About my old fears.
You are gone forever,
As the blackness sinks deep.
Finally, after so long,
In peace, I can sleep.
