Schoolyard Days

Little eyelids flutter by
Dreaming of the butterfly
Made new friends
They'll be 'till the end
Making circles
Singing songs
Hop and jump
Run and talk
That's so close to life
Yet so far
Like dawn from the dark

Then came a time when
We made cards for all
Yet hogged all the chocolates
From the shipping mall
Learning to use computers
And build castles on beaches.

Then jokes got darker
And life more serious

The Boys became crushes
The princesses blushed
Secrets were hidden
Pinky promises became fake

Life was now seen from near
Our hearts decided who was real
Had to make projects
Give presentations
Pens
Pencils
Glitter
All over the tables
Tenth of classes passed by
And our heads were all held high...

The Brain had to choose
From the diverging roads
But the heart was the same missing the simple
Expectations went up
Marks went down
Some swam across
Some drowned

Still here we are
Side by side
But soon comes the end
And we have to let go
Eyes go numb
Lips are sealed
So much to say
So much to hear.

Latrodectus

@Latrodectus

Hi, I'm Latrodectus, but you can call me Lat. I'm 14 and I love to write. I write at least 1 or 2 times a week and write everything from acrostics to opinion posts (and everything in-between) I'm also writing my first ever book/full story "The Darkworld Chronicles." I write to help find myself and who I really am and to help me deal with life's problems and stresses. I like drawing, acting, singing and gymnastics but don't like algebra, sport or swimming. My interests vary wildly (as do my works) and I feel it gives me some variety. Thanks for reading this, have fun in my world of writing :) ~Lat

Youth And Manhood

I miss my youth, everyday I could go out to the playground and play sand. I don't have to worry about cleanness or bacteria, I just simply play along until I am fulfilled.

The sunset shone a reddish gold. Upon two girls, just eight years old. They twirled and spun, they sang and danced. Lost within a youthful trance. A coffee table was their stage.
