In the still of night
And the quiet of Day
I long not for endurance
But choose to fade away
For now I conform
To the silent whispers
And their thoughts
Can't hang on any longer
I long for the departure I aught.
But what once seemed golden
Has dulled to brass
Glitter on going
But fades away
As I have dimmed
From the light I was.
My life
In my golden teens
Slips by speedily
Like a shooting star
Never knowing
Where I started
Nor getting anywhere.
I'll put my stamp on earth
And I'll pay my dues
Like an autumn leaf
I sway violently in the storm
Floating freely, nothing
No morals to hold me
No guilt
No remorse
Just success.
To escape to silence
Will hold a golden charm
And like a golden leaf
I become detached
To silence
To beauty
Alone.
