Optimist's V.S Pessimist's.

I'm a pessimist in a sea of optimists, and my pessimism is always in discussion. I see it as straight forward thinking and simply seeing the world from both views, I get called negative a lot particularly because when it's time for review at college I get really down in the dumps because I fear my imminent dismissal from the course. So that fear pushes me to get everything done with pure heart and to my full capacity, I see pessimism as nothing but a good thing! Being optimistic tends to leave you open for failure because of your optimistic mind set you're lead to believe you're the best, or rather good at your preferred subject. Therefore when it comes to an exam or review you think that you don't necessarily have to study as hard as others because of your optimism. Where as a pessimist is lead to believe that they are not at the height of their preferred subject therefore they study twice as hard in constant fear of failure and tend to get further in life, I guess the reason why I am bringing this matter to the table is because my pessimistic mind is always brought to the magnifying glass in every conversation I am in, and I never fully get to explain my side of the story because it's always interrupted with a flurry of and I quote " Oh my god Guile, you're so negative! Go listen to heavy metal" First things first, out of the plethora of genres I listen to I do dabble in heavy metal but I tend to stay in 80's music my favourite band is A-ha, one thing I've always hated is the "Negative" stereotype that comes with that genre of music. However I'm wandering from my point now let's bring it back to the centre, I am in no way shape or form an expert in the mind sets of Optimists V.S Pessimist I have just had my fair or unfair share of conflicts with my pessimism, I've had things happen to me that has ripped my head from the clouds and brought me to realise that life isn't all cup cakes and rainbows as a friend of mine would have you believe. Now even though her constant optimism is an annoyance she is a very sweet girl and a lovely friend, however in my experience the only time an optimist has come in handy is when I've been upset because they can say things a pessimist just wouldn't. Even though in your mind every word the optimist has just reeled out to you is utter nonsense you can't help but get infected with the happiness and innocence of their mind set and brings you back from the brink, but if a pessimist tries to help another pessimist when the other is sad it tends not to help as much. They will get you back from the brink but on your travels you will question every aspect of life and can make you more pessimistic than originally thought.
