Candles,
Batteries,
Sellotape
and string.
Old rubber bands
and a safety pin.
A key, that doesn't seem to fit any lock,
an ink-less pen, no lid on top.
A tiny torch,
Multi-headed screwdriver,
Monopoly money
- Oooh, it's a fiver!
A couple of marbles
and an 'Allen key',
a long-expired voucher for a free cream-tea.
Foreign coins
(no longer legal tender),
a funny plastic thingy that may belong to the blender....
A broken toy car,
some plastic straws,
one of those wedgy things that save little fingers from doors.
A box of extra long matches,
a measuring tape,
a little pack of plasters for cuts and scrapes.
Refuse collection info leaflets, (probably out of date),
some 'Lemsip Cold & Flu' sachets,
'Save The Yorkshire Rainforest' tokens,
and an old cassette tape.
A mini 'lint roller' to get fluff off your clothes,
and Goodness Knows what else,
to leave it there, I chose!
This kitchen drawer's a mess,
a right mash-up of stuff.
Most of it hardly used,
it all just gathers dust!
But everybody has one,
for their 'bits n bobs', you know,
Everyone needs a junk drawer,
where else would all this stuff go?
Don't forget to get those entries in for 'Drawer' in the next hour guys - looking forward to judging!
