Hesitantly I open the gate
With a creak and a squawk and a sigh
Ivy covered with wrought iron curls
There's more than meets the eye.
I edge inside the secret garden
The gate swings back behind
I look out over #Craziville
And hold onto my mind.
I'm determined to hold on
And keep my sanity
I don't want to be a fool
Spare me this vanity.
I trundle up to the brow of the hill
And down the meandering path
I jump in fright at a scary sight
As I hear a stifled laugh.
For The Asylum lies in front
It's walls gloomy and grim
I look around, my spine is tingling
As I go into a spin.
Should I stay, or should I go,
Should I enter that huge door?
My brain says leave, whilst there's still time
My heart is wanting more.
Suddenly the sky turns black
I hear ripples of thunder
My choice is made; I can't risk the
Lightning tearing me asunder.
Turn on my heels, and run so fast
A lucky escape you say?
The wonders of The Asylum
Can wait another day.
