Chapter 1

The lights flickered on and off. I opened my eyes and saw my brother, Edward, playing with the light switch.
"What are you doing?" I asked, my voice was barely a whisper.
"It's the first day of school!" Edward said excitedly, though he was three years older than me, he acted way younger.
"Is that today?" I groaned, I didn't want summer to end.
"Yep! Arn't you excited? It's your first day of real school and all." Me and Edward were homeschooled and probably would have been homeschooled until college, but Edward had a hard time so my mother sent him to real school three years ago. Some reason my mother thinks I will have a had time being homeschooled 9th-12th grade so she sent me to real school too.
"Not really, I just want to sleep." I closed my eyes again.
"Come on we need to get ready or we will be late!" Edward said flicking the lights on and off again. I groaned again, then got up. I wished that I had my own room. I put on a gray t-shirt and jeans on. I walked out of my room into the living room. My dog, Ace, a German Shepard, jumped up from his bed and came to greet me. I feed him and took him outside, when I came back inside I noticed that it was only 6:30, we didn't have to leave until 7:35. I went to my room and found Edward sleeping on the floor.
