Nothing beats the feeling of holding a book full of your own work, freshly finished.
Be it a sketchbook, a notebook, a diary, a manuscript or even a workbook.
Nothing beats that feeling of satisfaction.
I remember the first time I filled up a workbook at school when I was probably only 8 years old or so. It was my English Language school book and I was so proud of it.
I found it again last night for the first time in years, and I still felt that warm satisfaction when I turned the last page.
Even now, when I fill a notebook, I like to hold it between my palms for a moment.
Run my thumb along the worn, dog-eared pages.
Hear the creak of the broken spine.
Feel the weight of all my words.

Nice! I left school at 14 with nothing, I was the "bully who bullied the bullies" altho I could read, that was enough at the time for me (youthful arrogance), then in my late teens, I picked up a book and decided to educate myself in things I wanted to learn including and about life.
@smellyfingers that's inspiring. Books and reading are the answer, it almost doesn't matter at all what people chose to read. I worry about how little my young cousin and her peers read. Food for the brain!
I worry too, seems social networking sites are more important than learning. Reading books is uncool to the youth when they have all the tech of today to amuse themselves. I walk into a book shop or library and feel lucky to be in a place full of knowledge and inspiration.
@smellyfingers I don't mind either :) Opuss is great because it combines the ease of social networking with creativity!
@Pneumothorax @Pneumothorax yep, which is why I'm here, I don't do the other mind numbing "I'm having this for dinner" "I'm going here tonight" crap, it's like watching a soap opera on tv with shallow content that has no meaning. They seem to be creeping onto opuss tho, which is a shame
Mm, I only watch my feed really. I don't look at Top Opusses, and I am very picky with who I follow from what I find.
@Pneumothorax no I don't do the top feed of the day crap. I follow everyone who follows me or those I find inspiring or hp speak the truth, if someone I'm following chats shit I unfollow, I'm polite like that, lool
