He's here
Right in front of me
That look in his eyes
Tells me that I don't look the same at all
My step-mom
Takes a minute
Who is that, I see her wonder
Then she realizes
"Lauryn!"
She exclaims as she gives me a hug
Still no hug from him though
Barely any words either
I'm a new person to him
I have so much to talk about
I wanna know so much more
But there's no words, now that he's here.
What words to ask?
Is there a certain time and place?
Or will they never be spoken
Just because he's here?
For once,
I can see how we're related
Our crooked toes, our way to walk
Our humor
He stands tall and strong
I write about him now
As he yawns across the room
It's hard to believe but he's here
Not only physically
Or emotionally
But mentally
And in my heart
I've got to say
Thats a first
For me
Now that he's here.
