Am I dead?
I laugh at myself, as that is the first thing that I think. Typical me.
I sit up, and look down at myself. I frown. Why am I wearing a paper thin hospital gown? Was I in an accident?
As I think this, I study myself properly. I realise how thin the gown actually is an my hand flies to cover the most important part. I look up to see if anyone saw... But there's no one here.
Where am I?
I stand up. All I can see is a plane of white, as far as the eye can see. I walk for a minute- my legs are wobbly so it takes longer than it should. I reach nowhere but I continue walking.
"Hello?" I call into the deafening silence. There is no reply, only a pounding echo. I feel eyes on my back and spin around, almost losing my balance on my frail legs.
When I see her, I almost cry of relief.
"Sephy!"
Sephy doesn't reply. She doesn't even blink. I stumble over to her.
"Jo...?"
Yes, that's me. I'm Jo. I think.
Sephy spoke. It was definitely her voice, but her lips did not move. She is just a floating, translucent ghost.
"Jo? Why aren't you moving? Why are you not blinking? Jo?!"
"Sephy, I'm here, and you're not moving either, but I can hear you... And... See you."
"What happened? Are you... We... Dead?"
There was a slight hick in Sephy's voice. It felt weird to be talking to an unmoving apparation.
"I don't know. I don't remember! I don't see any wounds..."
I look down at myself, under the gown. What I see brings a jump to my heart and I begin hyperventilating.
"Jo?! Are you okay?!"
I don't reply. I just look at the morgue incision across my chest.

You should change the title, it gives too much away 👍 it's a very good piece and great description/scene your setting mate, keep going with it 👍
