My Fairytale

Once upon a time.....

All was quiet, still and calm
A single light lit up a lonely farm
Tiny creatures hid themselves away
A pack of wolves closing in on the prey

He could hear movement outside
But still he lay frozen - cold on the inside
His heart was as cold as ice
With death in his sunken eyes
Since his lover died that fatal day
His mind began to racing away

He could hear the howls of the wolves
Also the unicorns gentle hooves
He could feel the cool breeze
As fairies flew through the trees
He knew they were very near
Yet still he lay still down here
Paralysed upon his lonely bed
Fear now swirling inside his head

A light scratch on the window
Now he knew it was his time to go
Footsteps approached the door
A voice called his name - he was sure

Then he rose up from his bed
He looked out the window instead
He could see a tiny glowing fairy
Sat beside the old fallen tree
She beckoned him outside
And told him everything will be alright

He slowly unlocked and opened the door
As the fairies flew around some more
They smiled and flew down a path
So he followed them but didn't ask
He knew this old path among the trees
Led down to the lake - so he felt a ease

As he reached the open clearing
Right there stood before him
Was his one true love smiling
Surrounded by wolves, fairies and unicorns
A tear fell down from his eyes
She said, my love you have just died
I have gathered all the animals here tonight
To guide you here to be with me
So we can now be together for eternity
Together they took a midnight swim
They made love beneath the stars sparkling
Then they rode a unicorn into the woods
And were happily ever after as all good fairtale endings should
