It starts with pen and paper,
Typewriter, print or screen.
We forget all words around us,
Until we want to scream,
When we just can't think of a rhyme,
Or when that perfect description falls,
We're blank and stuck and flustered
And can think of nothing at all.
When our minds go off on wanders,
And we think of nothing else
No plotline for your story
Not sure how something is spelt
Not sure how to tie the ends
Of a story to a knot
And we call this little 'problem'
The wrath of writers' block.
