Jason scuttled off behind and I followed him like a lost puppy. The night sky was like a thick blanket. Yet the air was chilling.
We decided to make some fire out of the matches I had burred in the bottom of my rucksack. Only five left.
"so..." We sat around the fire with our cow skin blankets. I try to break the silence.
"how long have you been here?"
"fourteen days" his voice deepened as he looked at his feet. I wished I didn't ask. He brushed his hair off of his forehead and stared into the flames.
"shall we hunt?" he asked
His eye caught the light and he looked admirably cute.
"I haven't eaten in three days!" he murmured to himself.
"sure!"
Jason grabbed his spear and trotted off into the distance. We hunted together hand in hand like brother and sister. Hunting down almost any animal we came in contact with. We carried the kills back with us, hung over our shoulders. and to our luck the fire was still blazing with life.
We ate together. And at night we entertained ourselves.
-morning-
It was slightly colder than yesterday, and the rain poured down in buckets.
I woke only to find Jason gone but I could see him with his Red jacket sat on the sand. The ambulances had cleared. he glared at me in disgust.
"you snore..." he giggled
"haha!" embarrassment filled the air and I rubbed the back of my head. He was finishing the rest of his meal from last night.
"they're never going to find us..." I closed my eyes. " Don't say that!" he ran his fingers through my hair and glared at me sternly.
"you have a temperature!"
Jason argued.
"do I?" I stuttered
"what did you eat last night?"
"chicken why?"
" you haven't got-"
I trembled and cupped my face into my hands...
