Hello again, and today is Sunday, November 4, 2012. If you've read George Orwell's 1984, or even if you haven't you probably know about Big Brother. He's always looking over your shoulder, judging, and if you can just get one step ahead then you can get out of his view. Even so, how can you get ahead? Just like how the Red Queen says, you must run as fast as you can to barely escape drifting backwards. Big Brother is omnipresent and omnipotent but who is to say that he is bad? Why are we to grieve when Winston Smith learns to love Big Brother then is killed for his crimes? Did Smith not break the law, and if so, why should he get special treatment? What if we are given a more benevolent Big Brother, a "Big Mother" if you will. Would it be wrong if we create that for society, even if all the entity wants is well being and happiness for its citizens? All of these are hypotheticals and me thinking out loud.
As always,
ZenMercury,
Keep calm, and look, just now, behind your shoulder...
