My GPA tells me
I'm not smart enough
To go to the college I choose
The scale tells me
I'm too heavy
To wear those shorts in public
My parents tell me
I'm a total disappointment
They had such high expectations
The government tells me
I'm a delinquent
My opinion isn't heard until I'm legal
My heart tells me
I don't deserve
To fall in love with a good person
Society tells me
I'm not beautiful
I won't stand out in a crowd
I'm always told
Love is the loudest
Perfection is boring
I tell them
Love is not louder
Than the pressure to be perfect
