I'm not quite sure what to say
I suppose its been some time
I guess I should start with chit chat
Make sure everything with you is fine

But don't you think it's awkward?
All this idle chat?
Aren't we ignoring the bigger picture
I'm not the only one that can smell a rat

We're leaving things unsaid
And it simply just won't do
Unless we just move on
And forget we ever were a two

I don't know how we got here
Or how we get back
Maybe it's not such a bad idea
To just chit chat
