When babies are born they are born without religion. There is no God to them, they are atheist. Children as they grow up are indoctrinated into a religion that as luck would have it, is the same as their parents. That is why if born in the UK you are likely to be raised as a Christian (because its the dominant faith) or if born in Pakistan you are pretty much guaranteed to be raised as a Muslim. This works for Mexico, Brazil, Saudi Arabia and pretty much everywhere else on Earth.
Imagine a child born in the 8th century in Sweden. Take a guess as to which god that child would likely grow up to believe in. If you apply this to a child born in ancient Egypt say, 6000 years ago, yes a different God (gods probably). So, lots of different people and lots of different gods. There is nothing at all to support any of these gods exist or have ever existed but people throughout time and throughout nations worldwide have believed in a particular god or gods with the same devotion you have for your own. Yet you would say that they were not the correct god and because of this those people, all of them, are in hell. The Bible mentions that god is the only god and you accept this as the truth but you fail to understand that the Bible is not proof of your gods existence. The book Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is not proof that Lord Voldemort exists and likewise, stories of Odin and Zeus are not proof that they existed either. Simple as that.
Have you ever wondered why we consider Norse gods as myth, Greek gods, yep, myth too. Ancient Roman gods, they are myth too are they not?. We don't believe the stories told about them are true. Why would we, they are nothing but fantasy and a load of nonsense. These stories were created by societies that did not understand how the world around them worked, some probably told to teach morals or to entertain and some to control communities. Why is it that stories about Jehovah or Allah are different?. The stories their holy texts tell are somehow exempt from scrutiny despite them containing stories of talking animals, flying horses, giants and nine hundred year old men. Christians and Muslims for some reason think that these types of stories are perfectly reasonable but stories about a god using mistletoe as a weapon is a bit far fetched.
I am not saying don't believe in God. If you want to it is up to you. I just hope that you have realised that it is not mandatory.
