- The First Time He Held Me -
It was a gigantic pep rally at our school. I don't enjoy pep rallies that much. It's usually just all the sports teams dressed up, a bunch of screaming, and cheerleaders showing off their tan legs with their too-short cheerleading skirts.
I was really uncomfortable because it was so humid...but in order to get into the peppy spirit, I was wearing a blue baseball cap, one of our school colors.
I sat with my friends, and immediately, I saw him. He weaved through the crowd, easily, looking around the gymnasium. I waved, but he didn't see.
We watched the pep rally, my guy friend, Paul (not his real name ;]) stealing my hat every few seconds to annoy me.
Finally, it was over, and I stood up. It was so disgustingly humid and I know I looked a mess. And I was just about to leave the gym when a pair of strong arms wrapped around my waist, lifting me into the air.
I squealed, and looked down at my captor.
"Johnny!" I cried, wrapping my arms around his neck.
He grinned at me.
"I'm stealing you," he said, holding onto me tighter. "You're mine now."
I blushed, blinking at him. "What if I don't want to be stolen?" I asked playfully.
"That's just too bad," he said, still grinning.
He kept carrying me, until he set me down. I started to walk off, but he held onto my arms.
"Ah, ah, ah!" he said. "Remember, you're mine now!"
I turned and stuck my tongue out at him, but inside, my heart was racing.
"Where are we going, then?" I asked, smiling at him. I was blushing harder than I've ever blushed. My cheeks were so hot, and the humidity sure didn't help.
But we lost each other in the crowd. I went to the bathroom to survey how bad I looked. My hair was an absolute frizzball.
I put it up in a messy bun and decided to not wear my baseball cap. It had given me hat hair.
It was the end of the day, and the sun was shining. I opened the double doors to wait for my mom to pick me up.
And who was there waiting for me than Johnny.
