He walked me to singing class. I was a little late, and he begged me to linger just a little bit more.
I shook my head, smiling wistfully at him, and went into the classroom. Then, I remembered the day before. How Mr. Andrews let us loose because of play stuff.
"Hey" I texted him. "Idk what were doing
He might let us go"
"Leave now" he replied.
"Idk what were doing".
I waited for a little while, seeing what would happen.
"Come out" Paul urged. "I'm right outside
Come out
Come out"
"I think we're singing" I admitted.
"Come out anyway
Go to the bathroom
There's nothing wrong with going to the bathroom"
I frowned.
"We're gonna sing"
"Fine" he texted. "We aren't supposed to do this anyway
We agreed it was a bad idea"
When I saw those texts, my mouth twisted into a frown of outrage.
"Then leave".
His reply outraged me even more.
"I'm too lazy to move
LOL"
"So you're just gonna stay there?"
"Why not
I've got nothing else to do".
I stuffed my phone in my pocket and focused on singing.
"In LC" he texted a few minutes later.
As there was a lapse in class, I replied.
"Probs better" I texted back. "Probs shouldn't walk me to class
Probs shouldnt be in the same room as you
Or school
Or state
Or country
Or continent
Or world
Crap I should just move to mars"
"Stop I didnt mean it like that
LOL stop you're being so annoying"
My anger finally dissipated.
"We both agree it's a bad idea" Paul said. "But we do it in spite of that"
And I knew that was true. He wasn't keeping any of the stupid little rules he tried to pin on me.
It was time to work out again. I told Sally and Heather what had happened, and they shook their heads.
"He is an idiot," they said.
"And yet..." I said. They looked at me. "I still love him."
"Oh, Em," Sally rolled her eyes.
"You're gonna make me puke," Heather warned.
We ran a lap and then went into the weight room for more cardio.
After biking for fifteen minutes, Sally told us she was going to go out and run another lap. I just stared dumbly at her. There was no way I was going to do that.
"I'll be right back," she promised.
Heather and I decided to go on the ellipticals.
I was perfectly fine, until I was caught off guard by a certain memory that decided to suddenly become as vivid and clear as a movie in my brain.

Writing is my life. Forever. I want to be an author when I grow up. I write all the time. When I'm happy, sad, angry...it's an escape. Oh, and I love green hearts. I absolutely love them.
