Winter Night

Good night, loved ones
Tuck into bed
Snuggle in the covers
And rest your head

Warm in the blankets,
And cold outside
Smile and remember
It's soon Christmas-tide

String lights blink outside
In the black winter night
Shining jewels on each house
A cheerful sight.

The snowflakes fall
Gently to earth
Carpet everything white
Frosting the turf

The scene of falling snow
And glinting lights
Winking stars
On cold dark nights

Fills me with joy
Every year
Off to bed
With warm thoughts near.
