I go onto Facebook
I read the comments there
My friend has had a bad day
She lays her thoughts out bare
I read her troubled story
It makes me sad inside
I'd like to be there for her
To give her strength and be her guide
Other friends send comments
On her troubled post
Offering their support
When she needs it most
It turns out he has cheated
They've not been married long
They promised love forever
How it's gone so wrong
I offer her my support
And post it on her wall
It doesn't feel quite right
Like I'm not there at all
I decide to call her
And rush to the phone
I dial in the number
And get a ringing tone
As the answer phone kicks in
My hopes slowly die
I can't be there for her
I have another try
I go back to Facebook
And I read some more
What had really happened
With hubby and the whore
Then there it is
In black and white
The words we've waited for
Everything's gonna be alright
Just like it was before
Turns out it was just a joke
A poor one by a friend
Who thought it would be funny
To stage a photo and send
Facebook does a lot of
good
But can show bad thing too
What we share and believe
Is up to me and you
Please take care what you post
On your Facebook wall
What you think is funny
May not be fun at all?
