Day Of The Child

I think today I'll relax & give the day to my inner child

I'll give her full control of the reigns and let her run quite wild

I'll have 2 scoops of ice cream with my soldiers & my egg

And after that I think I'll go mad bouncing on my bed!

I'll stay all day in my pjs & do cartwheels round the room

I'll sit upside down on the sofa watching superhero cartoons

I'll hula hoop for hours, bet you'll never beat my record

I'll imagine a valiant knight saving me with his big shiny sword

More ice cream for lunch I think, with lots of chocolate sauce

Then with sofa, covers & cushions I'll build a very secret fort (shhh)

I'll turn the music up really loud & sing into my hairbrush

I'll spin round & round really fast & giggle at the head rush

I'll use up all the Lego building the biggest rocket ever seen

I'll pretend I'm in fairy tale land climbing stalks of magic beans

For dinner messy Spag Bol with of course ice cream for afters

Then I'll be a Kung fu ninja leaping from the rafters

I'll invite all my friends round to laugh at silly words

Like discom discom discombobulated a sillier word I've never heard!

Bath time then, in Matey goes, its bubbles get off all that's yucky

I'll make fur coat made of bubbles and play with rubber ducky

With a yawn I'll then climb into bed, a playful day gone by

Happily slipping into sweet dream as I'm sung a lullaby
