The Demons Inside

Part 1

I could handle the stench of the classroom, I could even handle the thousands of people bumping into each other in the hall. But once there was silence it drove me crazy to hear someone smacking on their gum. I glanced over at the girl a few desk away, my anger only grew as she continued to do it. I closed my eyes and tried to ignore her, I tried to focus on what my English teacher was saying. The guy in front of me started to stretch, his hand reached down toward his shoulder and he lifted his fingers letting a small piece of folded paper fall on my desk. I smiled and unfolded it,

I'm having a party this weekend, you should come. We need some pretty girls there -Levi

I sat there and twirled the note between my fingers until the bell rang, then I stood up and grabbed my book bag. "Yes, no, maybe so?" he said to me. My shyness took over and all I did was smile and quickly walk passed him. "Come on, think about it!" he yelled. I walked through the crowd of people away from him as fast as I could. Jessy ran up beside me, "ohh girl go talk to him!" she giggled. I shook my head no but I couldn't help but smile. "How is it no one knows who you are but one of the most popular guys in school aways wants you at his parties?" she said. I stopped walking and looked at her, "gez thanks." I could tell she didn't mean it the way I took it but I was still irritated anyway. We walked to the buses together and said our goodbyes as we got onto the bus. I hated the bus. You would think as many windows as it has it wouldn't stink as bad, but it was like a large yellow pill capsule filled with body odor and gas. You were just a tiny ant stuck inside.

I slid across the seat and sat next to the window, placing my book bag in my lap. Levi headed straight for me and sat on the seat next to me. "You know im not going to give up," he whispered. I smiled and turned my head to look out the window. The was silence between us for a moment then it was his turn to get off. "Melody come on, get off with me" he said grabbing my arm and pulling me with him. I was nervous as heck but I went with him. See, ive known Levi since 9th grade, its been two years and ive never really talked to him but he always tries to talk to me. I didn't know why, he's a little weird. We stood in his driveway and I looked up at the large two story house, the red bricks and white picket fence. Perfect. "Wanna come inside?" he asked. I shook my head no, "I really need to get home." He frowned a little but nodded, "i'll give you a ride."

He backed a car out of the garage and I felt my jaw drop. "You drive a firebird!" I almost screamed. He climbed out of the car laughing, "yeah its a 1982." I was tingling with excitement now, "you have a v8?" I asked. Now he smiled, "you know cars. Get in, let me take you home." I quickly got in the car and put on my seatbelt. As he pulled out of the driveway he let the top down and I leaned my head back, letting the wind blow my long hair around. Soon we came close to my house. "So where am I taking you?" he asked. I told him to stop ahead at the apartments. We pulled up at the gates, "so you ride the bus and you have a car.." I said. He looked at me and laughed, "had to get you to talk to me somehow Melody."

I got out of the car and looked at him, "you're a creeper Levi." He nodded at me but was still smiling. "I'll be at this exact spot Friday at 9 pm. You are coming to my party," he said then drove away. I watched him go and as he turned the corner I put my book bag on and started down the street. I still had two blocks to go before I got home.
