[This is a true story]
Tomorrow I would be a thousand miles away from here. I would be moving to Texas.
Jacob and I sat on the grass in front of my house and it was about midnight. My eyes were puffy and I bet my face was all red. I look hideous when I cry.
"I would be crying too, but right now I'm just kinda shocked..." Jacob said and looked sideways at me.
I force a smile. "It's alright."
I've known Jacob since first grade and he was always my best friend. I really hope the distance between us wouldn't ruin that.
"Y'know, you're like a brother to me." I say through tears. I know this wouldn't hurt his feelings that we were in the 'friend zone' because I knew he liked my friend.
He nodded and picked at the grass.
I see a dark figure lumber towards us.
"Jacob," I whisper, "I think there's a drunk man walking towards us."
He looks up.
"Oh. That's just my dad." He smiles.
Crap. "Oh! I'm sorry! It's just that there's a lot of--"
"Don't worry, it's fine," he laughed.
I felt like such a loser.
"Hey guys!" Clint, Jacob's dad said.
"Hi!" I stand up.
Jacob said sadly, "Well, I'm really gonna miss you, Dinda."
"Me too."
I hugged Clint, who was like my second dad. Then I hugged Jacob.
"That's not a real hug!" Clint objected.
I laughed and hugged Jacob tight.
"Bye Dinda! Hope you love San Antanio!" they both said.
"Bye!" I holler as they walk away to their house, which was a few houses away.
I wiped more tears off my face, dreading tomorrow.

Today, Jacob and I keep i touch and I visit Wisconsin often. Sometimes it's almost like our friendship grew stronger.
