Built To Last?

When I buy a poppy I expect it to last
Not fall off within the hour that has passed
I've donated a small fortune in the last two days
For an inadequate poppies to loose there way
Its not how I put them on, I'm pretty sure
I want my poppy to be trusty and totally secure
The pins are rubbish they bend and snap
The poppy is flimsy and is made of crap
C'mon British Legion, sort it out
What happened to the poppies you could wear without doubt
I know all too well the good work you do
Resettled our paralysed friend, converted his home too
We all want to remember and pay our respects
But I need a secure poppy not last years defects.
I want to wear it with pride and show that I care
I don't want it disappearing when I'm unaware
I'd like a poppy that will last all week
That's all I ask, that's all I seek.

We will remember the poppies of old.

I've bought 4 poppies in the last 5 days and two have broken - each day in school i've just come in and donated some money but people insist that you get a poppy for your donation so i seem to be amassing a collection of them

@deviltortoise well done you. 😘

@leelee101 I think I'll have to invest in something more robust. 3 of them today! 2 yesterday! 😬🌹

I love giving to charity - i just can't walk past friendly old people collecting without feeling like a terrible person so i usually carry around a few spare pounds to give
