Run to me
Till your ankles are swollen, heels are bruised,
Till your knees give way, and legs are through,
Remain whilst your eyes are dried, and cannot bare to blink,
Remain whilst you hurt, though do not ever think,
You have ran far enough.
No amount of bitten nails, or burned skin on the ground,
Could ever be found
To make him stop chasing you now.
A scent is easily tracked, once left on every branch,
Drops fall and stain, seep through scars of pain,
Though your heart keeps pumping, though it will soon end,
I'll make sure of it, my friend.
