Oh boy, I know it's been a LONG time since I posted a new chapter of The Bowthswer Hunt, and well, it's back! I worked on it a bit more so I'm posting the whole thing of what I've got. (Sorry for the length, I worked on it a lot before.) Enjoy!

The Bouthswer Hunt
I ran as fast as I could. I couldn't catch my breath, I felt like I was going to pass out. I looked back to see if they were still following me. They were.
As I was still looking back, I tripped on a large root sticking out of the ground. I let out a faint scream, but I had to get up and keep running for my life. They were really gaining on me now. I was so scared. I had to lose them. But how?
I got it! I jerked left, lost them in the giant pine trees, and dashed behind some bushes. I had to keep quiet but I couldn't help my heavy breathing. I had been running for nearly a half hour, and I'm just lucky to be alive.
I could here some men shouting in their Scandinavian accents, "Where is the girl? We must find her and track down her father! None of the Bouthswers family shall live!"
I was much scared for my life. I had to wait and couldn't move a muscle until the frightening men walked away. Then, I ran for my small house, hidden away in the depths of the woods. There is the only place I would be safe.
My house is behind a large mountain, so it is hidden from the village guards. No one would dare to go past this mountain, because of the foolish tales people tell. Many women would chatter to their silly friends the untrue tales of Hiensemount woods.
"I heard there are trolls dwelling beyond the mountains," people would say, or, "If you go past those mountains you'll be takin away by devilish monsters and be turned into vampires and wolves."
The ridiculous things people come up with really amazes me.
As I finally approached my house, I swung the door open and ran towards my father. "Oh Father, I'm so sorry! Please forgive me," I pleaded.
"Abigail, where have you been? I was worried sick! You could've been killed!" My father cared about me very much. That's why I love him, no matter what he does.
"Father, I'm sorry! I was just trying to hunt some food for us because I knew our rations wouldn't last us a week more."
"Oh Abigail, I know you're just trying to help, and I forgive you, but remember, you're just a young girl. You can't be out there, for I don't know what horrifying things will happen to you. Now tell me exactly what happened."
I explained to him what had happened in the woods. How I shot my arrow towards a bird, how the bird landed in front of the guards
carriage, about how they looked up, saw me, yelled and started charging towards me, and how I ran for my dear life.
The look on Father's face was frightening. I should've never left the house, for now I have exposed us more and the Rothsmer Village guards have a better sense of where we are hiding. I feel ashamed about what I had done.
My father hugged me and sent me to my room. While I was in my room I took out the picture of my mother that I keep in the button-up pocket of my jacket. I kissed the picture and laid on my cold bed, and took a short nap while clenching the picture in my arms against my chest.
My mother was captured nearly three years ago. She was killed right before my eyes. Mother was just out collecting sticks and branches for a fire to warm us, and I hid behind a wide tree, watching her gracefulness. I always wish I would grow up to look just like my beautiful mother. As she bent over to pick up a branch, I heard some guards scream, "Aye! There's a Bouthswer! KILL HER NOW!" And before my mother could even bat an eyelash she had an arrow right through her chest.
It's amazing how my father and I have managed to stay hidden for three years now. But I think that three year streak will soon end if Father doesn't find a way to escape these woods without being seen or recognized.
If only my father hadn't done those horrible things that got us into this mess in the first place...
When I awoke from my nap, my father came in my room with a serious look on his face. I sat up on my bed, and he walked towards me. I could only imagine what he had to say to me. He sat on my bed and put his hand on my leg.
"Abigail, now, you know that I am deeply sorry for all the damage I have done, and I honestly don't know why you forgave me for all the misery I have caused, but--"
"Father, please. I'll love you no matter the outrageous things you've done. And I know you only did it to try and help, but after a while of thinking to myself, we need to flee Hiensemount woods."
"And that's exactly what I came in here to talk to you about. And I have a plan, so pack your necessities. We leave at midnight."
Father told me about his plan during dinner. It was a good plan and all, but I don't think we could ever pull it off.
"Tell me, Father. Exactly how are going to do this?" I could see many flaws in his plan.
"Okay well, we will wear a disguise. I could wear a wig and a hat, and maybe some bifocals. And you could wear cloth, like a scarf, around your head so it covers your face. But don't cover your eyes, for you won't be able to see," he chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. I didn't help much.
"Father, it's so very hot outside! I would being dying with a scarf around my head!"
He chuckled again.
"Abigail, don't be so dramatic. You won't die. You might get hot and a bit sweaty, but no deaths... At least, I hope not." His smile was instantly wiped off his face.
I patted his arm. "I know this is all very tough and sad, but let's just try to focus on the plan."
"You're right," He said, flashing a weak smile. "So, we sneak out at midnight in our disguises and we'll do the unthinkable."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, 'unthinkable' may have been a stretch, but instead of going past the mountain... We go further back into Hiensemount woods." He was simply mad!
"But, Father, we don't know what's beyond here! What if there really are trolls and goblins further into these frightful woods? We could be killed in no time!"
"While I'm afraid the 'being killed' part may be true, there are no such things as trolls and goblins. Please don't overreact. These woods have never seemed to scare you before."
"I know, I'm just scared for our lives. More than usual..." And I really was. Most of the time, I try not to think of the tragedies my father had brought upon this family, but right now it's hard not to.
I figured we may as well go along with this plan, considering we've got none others. "So what are we going to do after we venture into the true depths of the woods," I asked Father.
"Well, I heard that there's another village not too far from here. But..." I could only imagine what he was going to say.
"'But?' What's the catch?"
"It takes two days to get there on foot."
"Two days?! How would we ever survive two days?!"
"Abigail, please stop overreacting. What has gotten into you?"
He was right. What has gotten into me? "I'm sorry, Father. But can you blame me? We're sitting here at dinner talking about sneaking into the woods to run from being KILLED! I mean, my overreacting is not completely unethical."
"I see. Very well." He kissed my forehead and that was it.
As I was about to walk to my room, he said, "Finish packing, and get some rest. We leave in five hours."
We were in over our heads already.
"There is another option," Father told me.
"Well what is it," I asked.
"Horse. We could go by horse and and it would cut our travel time in half. Or at least three fourths."
"Where in the world are we going to get horses without being caught?"
"We could get some from the village stables."
"You mean... Stealing? Hasn't that got us into enough trouble already? And I'm sure there will be guards planted all over the village. We would never pull it off."
"I guess you're right. But could it hurt to try?" He was starting to get stubborn.
"Yes! Yes, it could hurt! We could be capture, torchored, and killed! Please don't try to attempt this! I don't want you to get slaughtered!"
"Fine, I understand," Father said more oddly than he usually speaks.
I questioned whether or not he was going to keep his words. As I was about to ask him to promise, he kissed me goodnight and stumbled off to bed.
I thought not much of it, so went to my room to finish getting my things together. Soon enough, I was fast asleep.
A few hours later, I woke up to the sound of whinnies outside my house. Was it guards who found us, or my father betraying his words?
I slouched out of bed, dazed and tired, it being one hour before midnight. I went and looked out my small, squared window and saw what I appeared to be a tall man on a horse. I focused my eyes on the clothing of this man, and saw...
A guards' uniform.
I was frighted, petrified. I dashed for all the lights in the house and flicked them off, then ran toward under my bed.
A knock on the door. Should I answer it? I wouldn't dare.
Another knock. I would get killed if I moved a muscle.
Then a voice, "Abigail, don't be alarmed. It's just me." The pounded off my heart slowed down to it's normal rate, and I crawled out and flicked on my light. What has Father done know?
I walked to the front door and looked out the little window up top, just incase.
It was my father.
I turned the locks and opened the door to see my father on top a majestic, brown horse, and in a guard's uniform. I waited for his story, as I stood in shock.
"Abbie, you'll never believe what just happened!"
Oh, no.
