The fourth bell rings at last. I jump out of my chair and rush over to my locker. I put in the combination and cram all my books into it. Why do we need so many books?! I grab out my lunch and Josh is there waiting for me.
"Hey Josh."
"Hey Emma. Let's go to lunch."
We walk to the cafeteria and walk way over to the back. His table is way crowded.
"Guys, this is my friend Emma."
They all say hi excitedly. Why ate they excited? I'm not that interesting. Am I?
Josh and I sit down. There are six girls and eleven boys.
"So how was gym?" Josh asks.
"Bad. Mrs. Quinn is so mean!"
"Yeah, I know."
I pour my lunch out of my bag and try to eat it all. I'm not really hungry. A few girls walk up to Josh.
"Hey Josh!" one says. She sounds really snobby.
"Oh, um, Emma, this is my friend Cassie."
Cassie turns towards me and looks at me like I smell bad or something.
"Hi Cassie," I force myself to say.
"Uhh hey Lemon," she says to me like I'm a piece of garbage.
"It's Emma."
"Whatever," she scoffs at me.
She turns back to Josh.
"Anyways, I just wanted to ask if you needed anything."
"I'm fine, thanks for asking though."
She giggles.
"Anytime."
What a freak. She's such a suck up. When she walks away I make sure no one is looking and I sniff my shirt. Good, I don't smell bad.
I finish up my lunch and throw away my paper bag. I sit back down next to Josh. We talk about school and stuff like that. Once the bell finally rings, we get up and leave the cafeteria. Cassie runs up to us. Well not really us. More Josh. She honestly could care less about me.
"Hey Joshie."
She puts both of her hands on his shoulders from the behind and walks with him, pushing me to the side.
"Hey Cassie," he says a bit confused.
"I need to show you something."
"Ok-Ay," he says as he's pulled away.
Cassie turns and smirks at me. All I know is that I hate her.
