Once I felt real,
That's what led me behind the wheel,
I just wanted it to end,
Just too fast around the bend.
Once I was real,
Of that I wish I could feel,
What led me here,
To my mind so filled with drear.
Once I had a life,
Barely 16 and a man's wife,
Married while still a child,
A pretty dress with my hair perfectly styled.
Once I thought I knew better,
Until I hid my body under a sweater,
As soon as he found out I was in the family way,
He'd shoot me like a pigeon clay.
Once I ended it on my terms,
Your suspicious I would confirm,
I should have drowned myself in the twaite,
Serves me right for being late.
