The Town Forest

She threw her bag on the nearest cardboard box. While the hired movers, had done all the hard work, no boxes had been unpacked, nothing told you people actually lived here. It was just like a creepy show room. Lexi wondered around the open plan living room wondering about the conversations she had.
'Do you know what people say about this place?' she asked as her mother descended the stairs.
'It's the perfect place to live, with everything you need in close proximity?'
'No mom, not what the sales person of this house said, what the kids at school say'
'Look I know this is a new place and you are tired of moving, but your father found this because it is perfect for us, we have this big posh house, we are close to where I work, the school is great, and we are going to stay'
'Even without dad?'
Her mother sighed this was a conversation she had, had with her daughter time and time again 'Your dad found us this perfect place, he has his law firm and he is needed too much right now to leave the city, this is where he will come when he finds someone to help run the firm, you know this, just enjoy yourself here, make friends, be happy, just try. Please?' The look of pleading was strong in her eyes, all she ever wanted was for Lexi to be happy.
'They say we should never go into the forest, and that we can never leave the town now we live here.'
'Ok, I'm only going to say this once Lexi, I don't want you in that forest you don't know what is in there, but your wrong about never being able to leave, yes theres a contract I signed which enabled us to live here, its not easy getting a house here, but your dad got us this place and he can sure as hell get us out if he wanted to. Ok?'
'Fine'
Lexi moved up to her room. It was large and spacious, it had everything she ever needed. She opened up her laptop and started a search for the town. Wondering, praying, it would bring up more then just the history, hoping there would be some mention of the forest and what lurked inside it.
